Late May sees the annual Ham versus Shalbourne Cricket match take place. This is hotly contested in the best possible way. The match starts at 2.30 which starts the migration of Hamsters, across the fields they come, dragging hampers, chairs, corkscrews. They arrive at one of the truly most beautiful Cricket grounds that can be seen. The hosts put on a tea that has to be eaten to be believed. The cricket is taken seriously but the main point of the day is that it gives a good opportunity for locals past and present to meet up and the fielding after tea certainly bears testament to the fun being had.
After the match the party continues in the Indigo Palace courtesy of Khan: free curry and plenty of cricket stories punctuate a fantastic night. It happens every year so please come and join us - all age groups welcome.
